Absentee Voting Amid COVID-19

Louisa- The Auditor’s office strongly encourages voters to vote by mail this election season. Every voter should be receiving an absentee ballot request form from the Iowa Secretary of State’s office. Simply fill out the form, sign it, and drop it off in your mailbox to be sent to the Auditor’s office. If you did not receive a form, call the Auditor’s office at 319-523-3371 and we will mail you one. Once we receive your filled-out form, our office will mail you an absentee ballot. All requests for a ballot to be mailed must be received in the Auditor’s Office by 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 22nd.

The Auditor’s office will also have absentee ballots for the June 2nd Primary Election available in the Louisa County Auditor’s Office beginning May 4th, 2020. Absentee ballots may be cast in the Auditor’s Office, 1st Floor of the Court House, during office hours from 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you do not wish to come into the building, we offer curbside voting. Simply park in any of the parking spaces at the courthouse and call us at 319-523-3371 and two people will meet you at your car and you can vote from the safety of your car. We will also have signs posted outside with our phone number. The handicap drive on the west side of the courthouse will also be available to anyone who would like to drive up and vote from their car. The Louisa County Auditor’s Office will also be open Saturday, May 30th, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for absentee voting.
