Absentee Voting for Special Election Starts

Louisa- The Auditor’s office will have absentee ballots for the March 2nd Eastern Iowa Community College District $40,000,000 General Obligation School Bonds Election in the Louisa County Auditor’s Office beginning February 1st, 2021. This election only involves voters that live in the school districts of Louisa Muscatine and Columbus Junction school districts. Absentee ballots may be cast in the Auditor’s Office, 1st Floor of the Court House, during office hours from 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you do not wish to come into the building, we offer curbside voting. Please pull in any of the parking spaces at the courthouse and call us at 319-523-3371. Two people will meet you at your car so you can vote from the safety of your car.

            If you requested a ballot to be mailed to you, look for it in the mail after February 1st.  You can still request a ballot to be mailed to you by filling out an absentee request form and returning it to the Louisa County Auditor’s office. We will accept absentee request forms for mailed ballots until February 19th by 5:00 p.m. When returning your ballot, you can drop it in the mail. The postage is already paid for.  We also have a drop box located next to the west door of the courthouse if you would like to return your ballot there.  You can walk in and deliver your ballot to the office during office hours.

            Absentee Voters will be required to provide an approved form of identification before receiving an absentee ballot. Approved forms of identification are Iowa Driver’s License, Iowa Non-operator ID, U.S. Military or Veteran ID, Iowa Voter ID Card, Iowa Student ID, Employer Issued ID Card, U.S. Passport, Out of State Driver’s License, Out of State Non-Operator ID, or Tribal ID Card.
